Funded by your gifts and donations to the J Dilla Foundation, The James D. Yancey Award is given with the intent of strengthening and supporting the progressive music programs at relevant institutions by offering talented students monetary assistance for full participation in a hip-hop curriculum. Recipients will be selected based on audition, via application and .mp3 submission. All award payments will be made directly to the institutions by the J Dilla Foundation.
